My cousin Tiana was a professional hula dancer from age 7-25 and has accumulated an incredible collection of costumes and Hawaiian musical instruments from her career. Our 6-year-old cousin Tehana modeled for me in some of Tiana’s costumes on a bluff in Napili with lots of our family gathered around helping. It was an honor to capture Tehana at this tender age with these meaningful pieces of family and cultural history.
