Collection: Pualani Evening, 1993

There is a world of subtle, beautiful images that appear at night, when the limited visibility creates an aura of mystery in the darkness. Artists such as myself are observers of light. We paint from dark to light attempting to transform a flat surface into a window through which to look. These paintings require that you hold still a moment - as does the night - in order to see.

I've had more comments about my "night paintings" than anything I've ever painted. We have never been able to accurately reproduce one until Pualani Evening.
