Mauka To Makai, 1989

I think one of the most stunning views on the island of Maui has to be the view of the west side from the water. All along the coastline the West Maui Mountains rise up into the sky with such rich colors of blues and greens that you cannot help but notice and wonder.

The remarkable thing is that it always looks different. No matter how often you see it, the light quality is never quite how it previously appeared. The cloud patterns and shadows shape the hills and give the day its own individuality in an endless display of original moments.
