The Road Home, 2025

I’ve been walking this path for over 50 years. It wends its way up to Mook’s Look where Mrs. Mook’s final resting place looks out over the most staggering view on the island. You can turn your head a full 180° and see the entire island out in front of you and 3 other islands too. 

It’s best to go early while the chill is still in the air. If you dally, the sun gets above the mountain and the walking gets warm.

Horses have sculpted the gate boards to mark the way home. Arriving there is more comforting than sleeping in, because it gives the day momentum.
